PICK 'EM RULES & FAQ
THE BATTLE FOR THE CONE
It only makes sense for a college football pick 'em to have a cool trophy. While the winner does not get dumped with Duke's Mayonnaise, the ultimate prize for the outright winner of the Penthouse Pick 'Em receives the coolest trophy in all pick 'em leagues. "The Cone" is a traffic cone stolen by our very own Ryan Dalton from the city of Ames, IA. The winner will have their name added to the trophy. The first ever winner of The Cone was Andy Knuppel in 2022-23. The winner *may* also receive a mini traffic cone if I get around to making them.
Format
Each participant will select a winner straight up (no spreads) for each game from the pick 'em "Make Picks" page.
For every correct pick, a player will receive one (1) point, and every incorrect pick will receive zero (0) points/
A winner is determined by whoever has the most correct picks. It is NOT determined by win percentage, so be sure to not miss any games.
The regular season ends after the conference championships and Army vs Navy game. This is worth noting for tie breakers.
The "Game of the Week" is worth the same points as every other game, but it will be the first tie breaker at the end of the season.
Picks must be submitted by the start of the first game of the week. If picks are submitted late then any game that had already started will not count towards the players record. Refer to Rule 18 for any disputes.
Tie Breakers
The first tie breaker will be a players overall record in Game of the Weeks.
The second tie breaker will be a players regular season record (includes championship week and Army vs Navy).
The third tie breaker will be a players bowl game record.
The fourth tie breaker will be a players conference championship record.
The fifth tie breaker will be the CyHawk game.
The sixth tie breaker will be a players CFB Playoff record out of the three games.
The seventh tie breaker will be the Army vs Navy game
If a tie still occurs, the season will end in a tie.
How Many Games?
We will pick around 10 games per week, give our take. This year we may need to do more than 10 because of the amount of people that will be playing.
After the regular season, we will be picking every game from there on out. This includes all conference championships, all playoff games, and all bowl games. Bowl game picks must be submitted before the bowl season kicks off, but can be changed throughout the bowl season.
The College Football Playoff will be included in the bowl pick 'em. See Rule 19 for updated CFP format.
Other Rules
Any decisions that need to be made by admin shall be directed to The Committee. The Committee will discuss the problem and come up with a solution that is fair and follows how things have been run in the past. The Committee includes Penthouse Pick 'Em founder, co-founders, and long time participants; Dylan McDermott, Kyle Huesmann, Michael Egle, Ryan Dalton, Andrew Knuppel, Josh Ratze, Jake Ross, and Tyler Mercurio.
Playoffs and Bowl Games
All bowl games and first round playoff games will be picked at once. You can go back and change the picks if need be at any time. A second form will be sent out for the second round of playoff games, etc.
